The blocks are perfect for designs with curves and tight corners and produce finely detailed, sharp, clear prints. The shelf life of these blocks can be 10 times longer than traditional linoleum. A design can be cut into the linosurface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The carved linosheet design is then inked with a roller (also called a brayer), and then transferred onto paper or fabric.
